ZAHN dip-type viscosity/flow cups provide a quick & repeatable means of checking the  fluidity of inks and other liquids.  Zahn cups are recognised as a standard item of valuable press-side equipment

STANDARD:  ASTM    D. 4212

MATERIAL:    Bright polished chromium plated steel

Weller ZAHN Viscosity Flow cups are strictly quality controlled throughout manufacture to ensure accurate & repeatable measurements.

Zahn Nos. 1,2,3,4, & 5 cover the full range of relevant viscosities.

The most popular cup is the No. 2 Zahn which provides suitable efflux times for laquers,clears,enamels and
press-side adjustment of Flexographic inks.

Zahn Nos.3,4 & 5 are suitable for more viscous liquids, whilst the Zahn No.1 provides a longer efflux time for thin-bodied & lower viscosity liquids.

Operation

Operation of Zahn cups is simple:  the cup is completely immersed in the ink or other liquid to be tested, withdrawn, and the time for the ink or other liquid to flow through the base hole is measured.

Cleaning

After use, the cup should be carefully cleaned, with particular care being taken to clean the nozzle. (No hard or sharp implements should be used).
